THE SALVATION ARMY - Modesto CorpProvider Programs: Congregate Sites: The Salvation Army contracts to provide noon meals at 13 congregate sites for persons 60 years and older throughout the county. Home delivered meals are available to individual home-bound seniors. A donation of $2.00 per meal is suggested. We encourage people to come early to socialize, play cards, and more… Home Delivery Program: To qualify for a home-delivered meal a person must be 60 years of age or older, be home-bound and either be unable to prepare a meal or be without other assistance for meal preparation. The meals are fresh frozen; are accompanied by milk and bread; and are delivered Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Reservations are requested a few days in advance. The Brown Bag program distributes bags of groceries to low income senior citizens, 60 years and older twice a month. Supported by State General Funds and donations from members of the community, the program gives surplus, unsold foods and donated fresh vegetables, mixed canned goods, breads and fruits to help supplement seniors’ groceries.

please call Other senior programs: The Red Shield Center at 1649 Las Vegas St, Modesto is open for activities for senior citizens, Monday through Friday, 9-12:30 p.m. The annual membership fee for persons 60 and over is $9.00.
